Are you bold for change? On the 11th of March, 2017, over 120 professional and entrepreneurial women converged at one of the coolest spots in Umuahia, Abia state  to celebrate 2017 International Women’s Day and to find out how they can take bold steps to create the future they believe in! Women came in from across the south east and south south states to be at our Maiden Edition of FEMPOWER 2017.

The event was laced with networking, exciting games, music, dance, shopping, food, drinks and life-changing panel discussions centred around women taking bold steps to create the future they believe in. The Panelists spoke about politics, self development, effective use of technology and social media, goal setting, living purposefully and so much more. Panelists were Victoria Onyegbu, Onyinyechi Ojiaku, Adaeze Mgbeahuru, Racheal Ogugua and Laiza King.

We also had dignitaries of the Abia State Government in attendance to show their support to women, including the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Environment and Solid Minerals Development, Barr. Gabe Igboko, Former Head of Mission of Republic of Niger to the United Kingdom, His Excellency, Dr. Chuma Igbokwe and Senior Special Adviser to Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Chime Asonye,

We learnt the importance of having a support system and surrounding yourself with people who want to suceed as much as you do. We are building a community of women who are dominating the world and using their gifts and talents to build and enhance their communities. The most exciting part was knowing that the lives of the women who attended our event will never be the same.

But don’t take it just from us! Here are some of the reviews we’ve had so far…

Fempower event was everything I thought it would be and 10 times more. I commend the organizers because they have exceeded my expectations. I am so grateful I did not miss this opportunity. My eyes are opened and my head is flooded with ideas. Women are going places, breaking boundaries and it was a privilege to learn through this platform” – Chidinma Amogu

“I am glad I attended this event and I’m definetely leaving this hall better than I was when I came in. Thank you @hellobestienetwork and the Panelists. I hope Abia state gets more of this”. – Thelma

“I have always been a shy and quite woman but this program has taught me that it is a sin to remain in your comfort zone and stop yourself from being all that you were created to be. I am ready to take bold steps and live my passion everyday” – Ike Chisom

“I am very impressed with the Hello Bestie Network platform. It has helped me to meet like-minded and amazing women and has drawn me closer to achieving my goals for the quarter. I am grateful to the organizers and encourage it to be done every quarter or biannually” – Chidubem Okonya

“I heard about this event from a friend and I am so glad I attended. I used to think that I have to move to a bigger city outside Abia state to make it or achieve my dreams but that notion has changed after hearing the Panelist and the Host, Bestie Atti speak. I am really inspired. I hope this programme doesn’t end here, we need to continously motivate oursleves. Thank you Hello Bestie Network” – Victoria C. Usim

“I must say this conference was beyond amazing. I got alot from the Panelists but Laiza King hit me the hardest with the goal setting talk. I would love this to come up quarterly” – Hannah Dogubo
